Employee Spotlight: Lucas Mitchell

Lucas MitchellDiamond actively recruits and keeps the best IT brains in the market. Our staff are recognised industry leaders, innovators and all round impressive people who all have great stories to share.

From our Software Development team we’d like you to meet one of our Analyst/Programmers – Lucas Mitchell.

1. What is your role at Diamond IT?

My role at Diamond is an Analyst/Programmer. It involves assessing business needs of customers, translating those into project scopes and designs, and working alongside my colleagues in the Software Development team to implement software solutions.

2. What do you like most about working at Diamond IT?

The people and the work itself. I’m lucky to be surrounded by colleagues who are experts in their field, easy going and always willing to lend a hand. The types of development projects our team works on can range quite a bit, and always bring a new and interesting challenge to the job.

3. Why did you choose to enter the field?

Choosing a role in IT was a natural one for me, and I have always been interested in technology and science. As a kid, I would pull apart anything that was electronic (and usually break it. I try to break things less now). The field is always changing and growing, so it made sense from that perspective too.

4. If you could meet anyone, living or dead who would you choose?

Arnold Schwarzenegger. He has an incredible life story, from growing up in a poor, rural village; to pursuing his vision in sports, business, film, and politics to become one of the GOATs in some of those fields.

5. People would be surprised to know...

My main interest outside of tech is history, and in high school my nickname was Fonzie because of my beautiful head of hair.
