Roy Oostelbos

Diamond actively recruits and keeps the best IT brains in the market. Our staff are recognised industry leaders, innovators and all round impressive people who all have great stories to share. We'd like you to meet one of our Business Technology Managers - Roy Oostelbos

1. What is your role at Diamond?

Business Technology Manager (formerly RM) – I like to think of the role as providing guidance on Technology decisions with a focus on the commercial and operational aspects of the business requirements.

2. What do you like most about working at Diamond?

The ability to work with a skilled and professional team, interact with a diverse range of businesses and IT networks at the same time as being challenged to deliver a quality service on a daily basis.

3. Why did you choose to enter the field?

I’ve always been in customer service and sales focused positions. I had been looking at entering the Technology sector for a number of years and a good opportunity came up with a then much smaller company in Diamond. The ongoing growth of the sector and the challenge to adapt from previous roles were the primary reasons in choosing IT.

4. If you could meet anyone, living or dead who would you choose?

Hunter S Thompson...

5. People would be surprised to know...

I enjoy woodwork and make my own guitar amplifiers, speaker cabinets and I’m currently building some electric guitars.
