1. What is your role at Diamond?
My role here at Diamond is Senior HR Advisor. It is a varied role, and can involve on a daily basis recruitment and selection, performance management, policy creation and process documentation. I also take an active interest in how the staff are personally, not just how they are doing professionally.
2. What do you like most about working at Diamond?
The people here at Diamond really are our biggest asset. We have so many talented staff that are always striving to become masters of their craft and that is inspiring to see. And it doesn’t hurt that there is always someone to ask if you are having any IT issues!
3. Why did you choose to enter the field?
After Uni my first job was in white collar temp recruitment and I really loved the fast pace and constant interaction with people. When I moved up to Lake Macquarie 4 years later, I decided I would like to move into the general HR field and haven’t looked back.
4. If you could meet anyone, living or dead who would you choose?
I don’t have anyone that I would choose to meet, living or dead. I would however love the chance to spend a few hours with my Pop who passed away suddenly 10 years ago. He was a big part of my life growing up and to be able to talk to him again and have him meet my two children would be the thing I would want more than meeting a famous person.
5. People would be surprised to know...
That I married my high school sweetheart, we met when we were 14 years old. Without giving away my age, 20+ years later we have been married for 11 years and have 2 beautiful children and still really enjoy each other’s company!
