Employee Spotlight: John Vant Veld

1. What is your role at Diamond?

I work in our NOC team as a Tier 2 Analyst. My section is responsible for monitoring the health of our clients IT infrastructure. A part of my role involves analysing trends in customer issues and working to identify problems before they impact the business. I also serve as an escalation point for our Tier 1 NOC staff.

2. What do you like most about working at Diamond?

The staff, they make it a very fun and relaxed environment to work in.

3. Why did you choose to enter the field?

I felt it was time for a career change and IT seemed the perfect fit for me. Computers were always a hobby of mine and I tended to be the IT support guy for friends and family.

4. If you could meet anyone, living or dead who would you choose?

Diego Maradona, I am a big football fan and he is one of the all-time greats. He is a controversial figure but has worked hard to overcome many obstacles in his career and life.

5. People would be surprised to know...

Before moving into the IT industry I was working in hydraulic hose repairs, quite the change in scenery.
