By Samantha Cordell | January 24, 2017

Pete LambertDiamond actively recruits and keeps the best ICT brains in the market. Our staff are recognised industry leaders, innovators and all round impressive people who all have great stories to share.

We’d like you to meet one of our Presales Support Technicians – Pete Lambert.

1. What is your role at Diamond?

As a Presales Support Technician. I prepare quotes and solutions for our customers. The role requires a combination of knowledge, creativity and architecture making it very challenging and therefore enjoyable.

2. What do you like most about working at Diamond?

Diamond is big enough to provide a full complement of personalities and skills, and small enough to be friendly and employee-focussed. It’s a local business built from the ground-up here in Newcastle, with the benefit of the great lifestyle here in my home town.

3. Why did you choose to enter the field?

I left the Navy to move to USA and took my interest in computers from school and the RAN to study office computing and work in a computer store. When I graduated I got a job doing support at Microsoft Corp. IT is always changing and improving, and suits my love of learning and a need to challenge myself.

4. If you could meet anyone, living or dead who would you choose?

Living: Wayne Gretzky – Dead: Freddie Mercury.

5. People would be surprised to know...

I’m heavily involved in Australian Ice Hockey. I served as a Commissioner of the AIHL for 5 years, and have been a play-by-play commentator for the league for the last 11 seasons. I’ve also recently taken up cycling with my Diamond work mates and have been doing distance road events.
