Not-For-Profit Microsoft 365 Price Increases Coming Soon

By Hannah Donnelly | July 13, 2022

Not-for-profit Price IncreasesAfter a decade of updates and innovation without a price rise, Microsoft is set to increase the pricing of its Microsoft 365 and Office 365 not-for-profit plans.

What products are impacted by the price increases?

Commencing September 1, 2022, Microsoft has announced a price increase of around 10 - 30% for the following products:

Why is Microsoft increasing the prices?

Since Microsoft 365’s initial release, Microsoft has added 24 new applications and more than 1,400 features, including Teams, data loss prevention for documents and emails, Office messaging encryption, artificial intelligence-supported capabilities, and security features.

A statement issued by Microsoft said “This is the right time to update our pricing. Although there are still questions and uncertainty, we see clear signs of economic recovery around the world. Moreover, over the past few years our competitors have increased prices, in some cases aggressively. We simply have a better story and proven track record of reinvestment in the product and consistently delivering new value to our customers.”

Not-For-Profit Grants

Please note, that these changes will not impact any not-for-profit offers available as a grant, including:

  • 10 licenses of Microsoft 365 Business Premium,
  • 300 licenses of Microsoft 365 Business Basic, and
  • 2000 licenses of Office 365 E1 via Enterprise Agreement.

Does the price change affect both monthly and annual pricing?

Yes, the pricing update will affect both annual and monthly billing options and will be effective at your next renewal after September 1, 2022.

Current not-for-profit Diamond IT customers will be contacted by our team to discuss these changes and develop a transition plan for the new billing structure over the coming weeks.
