Meet Kate Bernardino - Business Technology Associate

We'd like you to meet one of our Business Technology Associates, Kate Bernardino.

Tell us a bit about your role as a Business Technology Associate at Diamond IT?

My role acts as the strategic partner between our customers and our IT specialist teams. Basically, I am a translator between our customers and the Diamond IT team.

Tell us a bit about your background?

I started my career in public relations, marketing and communication roles which over time evolved into an IT Business Analyst role within a large non for profit based in Newcastle. Producing strong results within this role, I entered into a newly created position (IT Business Engagement) within the same organisation, where I managed a team of IT Business Partners who were responsible for driving IT strategy, identifying technology solutions and building strong relationships with key stakeholders.

From here I undertook an acting role as CIO (Executive Director for IT) which, while exciting and dynamic in nature, took me away from the direct customer interaction I thrive on.

Why did you want to work for Diamond IT? 

I enjoy working with people to understand their strategic goals and the challenge of developing the best IT solutions to meet their objectives and solve their needs. 

What excites and motivates you in the technology space? 

I am motivated by how far the tech sector has come in a relatively short period of time (in the last 2 years) with offerings like ChatGPT, Generative AI, Voice, Authentication Securities, BI; and how quickly these offerings have become part of every day solutions for consumers. Where to next, lets see..

When you’re not at work, where would we find you? 

Working on the next event for Gen Collective (as the current body president), spending time with my significant other or planning/managing the next stage our house build.
